Submitting Songs

First Kiss Records is currently accepting submissions of new and original love songs. In order for your songs to be considered, they must be a song that can be played at a weddings, used for the reception, a bachelorette party, the honeymoon night and other general situations where "love & newlyweds" is theme.

Your lyrics must relate to the situation. Your recordings must be a professionally recorded and a studio master mix is mandatory. We will NOT accept any low quality demos. We will NOT take your song into our studios to professionally record. You are required to furnish a commercial quality finished recording. You may upload mp3 versions of your work for our review. You must have the rights to license the song to us and be the legal copyright owner. If your song is accepted, we'll contact you with a formal contractual licensing agreement.

Please assess your works before any song submissions are made to verify that they match our suggested commercial and creative criteria.

First Kiss Records Seven Point Plan to Successful Music Placement.

These general guidelines will increase your chances for acceptance of your music submissions to First Kiss Records.

1. Layout the structure of the song in a traditional commercial format.
2. Make sure the chorus has a strong hook and get to the hook right away.
3. Write lyrics that create alternate meaning, especially in the way the chorus responds to the different verses.
4. Make sure all tracks on the recording contain a 100% professional performance.
5. Spend more time mixing and mastering your recording then you did laying down tracks. AND...don't over produce.
6. Output three finished versions, one with:
   1. Normal Song: all the vocals - a normal performance
   2. Backing Tracks: including all background vocals - used to accompany a live lead vocal performance - i.e., for a TV show performance
   3. Music Only; no vocals whatsoever - used for TV, film and montages.
7. Package your finished song(s) in a professional looking manner with proper labels and identification on all elements of the package; the cd disc, the case, inserts. Include all credits, copyright, licensing affiliation and contact information.
